Route Information

7 Branches Trail

Description

Experience the hills of southern Meriwether County with this mixed surface route through the Pine Mountains.

With over 2000 feet of elevation gain, this route offers a unique combination of rural farmland, tarmac ascents in FDR State Park, and creek crossings along the 7 Branches Road.

The mountainous landscape made this area a thriving region during the prohibition era, and evidence of illegal bootlegging can still be found along the cool mountain springs featured along this route.
