Description

First debuted in 2021 by Chainbuster Racing, the Kissing Bridge route is the classic combination of the 400+ miles of gravel roads in Meriwether County.

The routes both feature the famous Red Oak Creek Covered Bridge constructed in 1840 by Horace King, a freed slave and renowned bridge architect.

The bridge is both the longest and oldest covered bridge in Georgia, and with a total span of over 410 feet, it is one of the longest covered bridges in the south.

Locally known as the “kissing bridge,” this masterpiece of antebellum architecture is a proud focal point in central west Georgia.

This route starts and ends from Fitzgerald Fruit Farms, so prepare to spend time afterwards sampling local produce and peaches! You can expect a fast 61 mile course through the gently rolling hills of Meriwether County.

Note: On both the short and long routes, a section along Oakland Road has been decommissioned to vehicles. Expect to dismount and cross barricades on both ends of the closed section.
