Description
Explore one of the more remote regions of central west Georgia with this challenging route.
The route begins and ends in Odessadale, a small farming community established nearly 200 years ago with an interesting history (see points of interest).
Expect long, uninterrupted stretches of gravel roads filled with bridges, climbs, rolling hills, and pristine farmlands.
The route is best when ridden in a clockwise direction.
Note: there are no store stops and limited options for water resupply. This route does require a few short segments of riding on Highway 109.

Points of Interest
Here are three points of interest to visit or look out for on the Odessadale gravel trail in Meriwether County, GA:
Odessadale Methodist Church
A gorgeous 19th century church still in use today. Present at the very end of the route if ridden clockwise.
Check out the Odessadale Methodist Church website for more info.
Odessadale Elementary School
A notable school which opened in the 1920’s for African American children in the area. Today, the building is one of two original African American schools still standing in Meriwether County (the other is the Rosenwald school in Warm Springs).
The school can be found adjacent to the parking spot at the Hebron Baptist Church, and efforts from church members are underway today to help restore the school building.
You can learn more about the school on this Facebook page.
