The Manchester 55

Route Information

Gravel road on The Manchester 55 bike route

Description

Challenge your fitness with this excellent gravel route through rural Talbot county. Starting from the Parks and Recreation complex in Manchester, this route has a 4 mile out-and-back to a 45 mile gravel loop that is almost entirely dirt.

With over 4,000 ft of elevation gain, this is another route that might challenge any bias you have that elevation does not exist south of north Georgia.

The loop is best ridden in a clockwise direction, and resupply options exist at exactly halfway in the town of Talbatton.

This route passes through some rough roads that are seldom maintained, so we recommend adequate tires and a spare tube.
